How long does it take a rescue pet to settle in?

Writer's picture: Pound PawsPound Paws

Each rescue pet varies, when it comes to settling in to their new home. However, a great rule to refer to, is the 3-3-3 rule.

This rule will help you understand the decompression process that your new furry friend will go through in the first 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months at a new home.

But generally, it can take up to six months. Remember to always be patient with your furry friend. There is no greater feeling, then the bond between a hoo-man and their pet! Trust the process 💙🙏🏼
