Bondi Beach’s iconic Dog Day returns, coming in hot thanks to a successful first year event hosted by Pound Paws in partnership with Waverley Council. Picture the paw-fect Saturday morning with your pooch, walking along the Bondi promenade, with the waves gently crashing in the background, you take a turn into The Bucket List, where your pooch is greeted with a goodie bag + puppi-cinno. You’re feeling like a su-paw star!
Whether you're a Bondi Hipster, Yogie or from out of town, all hoo-mans are welcome to join in on the fun. Expect plenty of tail waggin’ activities ranging from; Best Dog Trick / Costume judged by VIP Judges, Dr Kate Adams (Bondi Vet), Simon J Hill (@PlantProof) to name a few, as well as Pup Crystal Healing, DOGA (Doggie Yoga) sessions, Pet Market Stalls and the famous Bondi Doggie Lifeguard Challenge.
The Bondi Doggie Lifeguard Challenge, (proudly presented by Petsy) provides dogs with an opportunity to live a day in the life of a Bondi Lifeguard. Each entrant will take part in the doggie obstacle course, which involves everything from dodging plush toy sharks, to swimming in mini pools. Has your pooch got what it takes to become the 2020 Champion?
Pound Paws Rescue Dog Adoption Parade will involve a variety of dog rescue groups, with dogs available for adoption. These rescue dogs are also displayed on the Pound Paws online search engine, which operates on the website. Founder of Pound Paws, Brittany Bloomer says “We are focusing on particular dog breeds that tend to trend in the Bondi Area, you can expect to see rescue Pugs, Bulldogs to name a few... We want to showcase that you don’t have to shop when it comes to finding a pet, you can easily adopt!”
We’re welcoming all walks of life from the sea shore to the green lawn at Bondi Pavillion, to join us in raising awareness about pet adoption. Whether you’re looking to adopt, or just want to fill your heart with puppy cuddles, this is your weekend plans sorted!
